Q & A with Little Miss Makeup
Dear LMM, How long does it take you to do a model’s makeup on a shoot? And are the products you use in your tutorials what you use in a professional capacity? Thank you, Holly. Dear Holly, Thanks for your email. The time it takes me to apply makeup at a photo shoot can vary. It depends on things like the type of look (natural versus strong), the condition of the model’s skin, and whether or not… Read full post here

Face Oil: Friend or Foe?
“You’re glowing.” “Your skin looks great.” Isn’t that what every girl wants to hear? Lately I have been inundated with these sorts of remarks. You want to know the best part? It is my real skin they’re talking about. No foundation, concealer or highlighter in sight. Just pure, unmasked skin. The ultimate in compliments, right? The secret: Clarins Santal Face Treatment Oil. For the last two months, I have been using Clarins Santal Face Treatment Oil in place of my regular moisturizer both morning and night, and the results have… Read full post here
Pretty as a princess!
“The Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2012 show was like a modern-day fairytale, complete with carousel, candy colors and lace trimmings. The models’ faces were fresh. Their complexions had been prepped to perfection to create skin that seemed to glow from within. Beautiful big eyes were the centrepiece of the look. Softly shaded lids were adorned with a fringe of false lashes and bordered by full brows. Lips and cheeks were plied with pretty tones of pink or peach. Hair was pulled back and held in place with shiny headbands. The overall look was stunning – totally wearable, and perfect for daytime and… Read full post here
All dolled up!

Links à la Mode: Spring has sprung!
Edited by: Collette Osuna of Statements in Fashion. Spring is a wonderful time of year, not just for the warmer weather but the sense of renewal. It’s the perfect time to clear away the old and bring out the new. Dust off your faithful flip-flops and pull your tank tops to the front of your drawers. Why not shake up your closet and try on some spring trends. There is so much loveliness to be had. I personally am adoring the resurgence of pastels. If you need some inspiration in your life, or are simply craving some good reading… Read full post here
In my kit: 35 kg of makeup and counting!
Dear LMM, being a makeup artist obviously means you own a lot of makeup. I’m curious – how do you organize it? Thanks, Alex. Dear Alex, Thanks for your question. Most makeup artists have their own preferences when it comes to their makeup kits. Here’s how I do it. The mobile makeup counter! My basic makeup kit is actually a large suitcase (with wheels), and when it’s full of makeup it weighs about 35 kg. I can’t even lift it, so when… Read full post here
Pretty in peach!
" ’Tonal, monochrome or matchy-matchy’ " is the perfect way to sum up one of this season’s hottest makeup looks. To translate the trend, pick a single colorway and apply it to the eyelid, top of the cheekbone and lip. Sunset shades like peach, melon, apricot and marmalade were seen at shows like Jaeger, Preen and DKNY. Choose these hues – they look fresh, feminine and oh so pretty on everyone!" LMM, 2012. … Read full post here
Prime time!
The main purpose of a primer is to prepare the face for foundation. In my opinion, Lancôme La Base Pro is the best primer for normal to oily complexions. It improves the texture of the skin by creating a smooth canvas and eliminating shine, which prolongs makeup wear time. Lancôme La Base Pro is an oil-free, clear-colored, gel-like formula that glides onto the skin easily. Because it’s silicone-based it feels soft and silky to the touch, and a little goes a long way. It’s unscented, lightweight, dries fast without leaving… Read full post here
